Matthew 27:32-44

The Cross That Changes Everything

At first glance, the cross appears as nothing but shame, powerlessness, and failure. A humiliated man, dying slowly in public, surrounded by mockery. Yet woven through this scene are deeper truths—clues to why Christians call it wondrous. The crucifixion is a curse that lifts our curse. The stripped garments point to a shame that removes our shame. The taunts reveal a power stronger than violence—the power of love held back for the sake of others. And the refusal to save Himself becomes the very act that saves us. This is the cross that changes everything—for those who see and believe.
